Housekeeper for an official residence of ambassador in Brussels

The Permanent Representation of Denmark to the European Union is looking for a housekeeper for one of its official residences in Brussels to provide maintenance and housekeeping for the Ambassador. You will be a team of two housekeepers.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
• Ensure that the residence is maintained clean and in good working order
• Laundry, laundry sorting, ironing and storage
• Light preparation of meals (balanced and varied cuisine)
• Liaison with ambassador’s PA to provide functions and receptions as well as liaison with Permanent Representation’s Housing section regarding maintenance issues arising
• Assistance and service during official events and functions; receiving guests, preparing tables, serving and post-event tidying.

Profile of the candidate sought
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar environment
• Reliable, punctual and organized person
• Versatile, dynamic and jovial person
• Discretion assured to employer
• Attention to details
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Driving license is an advantage
• Be in possession of a Belgian work permit
• Fluency in English and Proficiency in French is an asset

Conditions of employment
• Job description: housekeeper
• Post to be filled: as soon as possible
• Place of work: Ixelles (Brussels)
• Employment contract: one-year contract with possibility of extension
• Working conditions: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasionally on weekends)
• Schedules to be defined in accordance with the Ambassador’s needs
• On-site accommodation not available

This position is subject to final approval by the Danish authorities following a security screening for local recruitment with a level of remuneration reflecting local conditions. Salary will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. This is a full-time job offered for a fixed period of 12 months with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.
